What We Do

Strategic Advice

Allerding and Associates bring project vision to reality with our knowledge of strategic and statutory government process. We provide a strong negotiation focus to achieve implementation of projects and providing strategic advice to clients.

High Profile

The land development process is complex often involving multiple government agencies and our experience in high profile and often complex planning projects that have been delivered on the ground is testament to our expertise.

Team Working

As planners we often work in a collaborative team environment taking a central role in negotiations with government agencies and providing honest, objective and meaningful advice to clients at all stages of a project.

Our experience across all sectors of planning has resulted in a strong statutory background, which draws upon practical application from private practice and former government experience.

Due to our work within and for government, and specifically on high profile initiatives and legislation, our knowledge of systems, processes and statutory matters is significant and (importantly) current in the context of all our projects.

Who We Are

Steve Allerding - Director

Steve has qualifications in Geography and Economics as well as Urban & Regional Planning and has worked extensively across many levels of Government and private practice.

His experience commenced in private practice with Feilman Planning Consultants, with time spent in both State Government (Department for Planning) and Local Government (City of Armadale) before becoming Principal Policy Adviser to two former Planning Ministers.

Steve’s experience across all sectors of planning has resulted in a strong statutory background, which draws upon practical application from his private practice experience. His previous positions as Partner and Director in other successful practices provided a broadening of experience and expertise before commencing practice as Allerding & Associates.

Allerding and Associates, also has the significant advantage of staff having experience working within all tiers of Government, including Local, State and the Minister’s Office. Steve Allerding’s relevant experience within Government includes:

- Representation on the Liveable Neighbourhood’s Committee and thus close involvement with its formulation and review for regional and metropolitan urban design initiatives;
- Representation on the Committee for the Planning Legislation Review;
- Representation on R-Codes Review Committee; and
- Providing advice on and giving consideration to various statutory, land assembly and rezoning requirements for Local and State Government authorities;

Due to Steve’s work within Government and specifically on high profile initiatives and legislation, his knowledge of systems, processes and all statutory matters is significant and (importantly) current in the context of the requested services and the statutory needs to ensure appropriate statutory advice can be provided.
